Gabriel Jacka is a
Melbourne-based designer, taking a fresh approach to small-run hand-printed
textile design.
Strongly influenced by
a childhood in rural Victoria, his love of landscape and the repeated patterns
evident in nature is a strong influence in his aesthetic. Travelling
extensively through Europe, Africa, and Australia, Gabriel's work exhibits an
historical reverence, and embraces his passion for playful yet classically
inspired interiors, ephemeral but with ageless appeal.
Since moving to
Melbourne he has studied textile design in order to capitalise on the
flexibility of this medium across a wide range of design contexts. Working
initially in interior design, at both residential and commercial levels, he has
gained a thorough knowledge of the wide scope for textiles, and brings an
understanding and enthusiasm for using fabric to full and dramatic effect.
Gabriel's collection harnesses
strong pattern and colour, yet adheres to classic design principles. This
hand-printed range has been conceived for myriad applications to complement and
enhance your unique space.
